As a boutique property search and advisory service we have no affiliations with financial institutions or estate agencies. We have no conflicts of interest. We are totally independent in both thought and deed.
We are obsessively objective and non-judgemental. Clients’ decisions are, by definition, subjective, but those decisions are helped considerably by our honest and unbiased advice.

In the Alps, we are primarily active inVAL D’ISÈRE, MÉRIBEL, COURCHEVEL, CHAMONIX, and MEGÈVE. We also cover VERBIER in Switzerland. We extend our services to MONACO by arrangement.

Stuart Baldock M.A.
As one of the most experienced property professionals in France, Stuart is the person you would want at your side when matters get complicated; and they very often do! After studying Modern Languages at Balliol College, Oxford, Stuart moved to France to study French law. He and his family have lived in Nice ever since. His depth of knowledge, understanding of the French system and linguistic abilities are frankly, quite extraordinary. His depth of skill in matters of French administration is world class.
By his own admission, Nigel loves the thrill of the chase! Negotiating acquisitions, valuation, quiet determination and comprehensive market knowledge are his trademarks, giving our clients an edge when it comes to property acquisition. Scoring a win for his clients is his forte. Nigel has spent the last 14 years of his professional life acquiring some of the finest houses and apartments in France for private clients. As a longstanding Francophile, Nigel relishes helping clients find their own ‘corner’ of France. He has an uncanny knack of achieving that aim.
Having skied in North America, Japan and all over Europe, Charlie has an innate sense of what works in the Alps. He urges clients to consider three factors early on: snow sure credentials, a large well joined up ski area and proximity to the slopes. Having lived in Monaco as a teenager and beyond, Charlie is familiar with all things French. After a 25 year career in investment banking he brings a ‘big picture’ and forensic approach to property. Our Alpine clients can be assured that no stone is unturned and that they will be kept ‘on piste’ when it comes to property acquisition. All players in the Alpine market respect his integrity and depth of knowledge.
how we do it?
Before the search begins, wherever you consider buying, our first priority is to spend time with you discussing the market, giving you our input and understanding your brief fully. Then we’ll look at everything which might be of interest and which you need to be aware of. Everything we show you will have been personally pre-viewed and selected. Our contacts and knowledge of our regions mean we occasionally have access to off-market properties.
We prepare short-lists with commentaries and then, following your comments, the first itinerary is put together. You’ll have details of everything on the tour before setting off, with descriptions, photographs and location plans – as well as our own objective comments, both positive and negative. Our Client visits are planned with military precision and common sense. We try to make them fun, too!
What you see will be usefully educational, giving you a picture of the market and a feel for values. It may take weeks or even months, but we leave no stone unturned to find you what comes closest to your brief. We prefer to take the necessary time and recognise the need to stay flexible as your knowledge grows and your desires evolve.
Once you’ve identified a suitable property you’ll want to be reassured on the technical and structural aspects as well as value. We’ll comment in detail on the good points and the bad, identify potential areas of risk, if any, and plan negotiation tactics with you.
Once a transaction has been agreed in principle we advise in the choice of Notary and help you get the best fiscal and legal advice if this is required.
We’ll be there at Completion, assist at handover and with insurance, utilities and everything else. We help make your experience positive and pleasant both before, during and after your purchase.
It should also go without saying that we are extremely attentive to confidentiality. We have acted for Heads of State, CEO’s of some of the world’s most high-profile companies, for individuals and families who are constantly in the public eye, as well as the obsessively discreet. We never discuss our Clients, or the properties they buy.
